MOM-SD serves a vastly underserved population of junior enlisted service members and their families in San Diego County by addressing essential needs and helping stretch limited household funds in one of the most expensive regions in the nation. Our “one-stop shopping” approach meets multiple basic needs through a variety of programs, including:
Household goods provided through our Distribution Center
Weekly food distributions at military housing communities and installations
Morale-boosting special events held throughout the year, such as baby showers, Thanksgiving meals, Christmas Store shopping, Easter egg hunts, and Back-to-School backpack distributions
Emergency assistance for families impacted by crises such as house fires, vehicle theft, or other unexpected events that affect their ability to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and baby supplies
All services are provided free of charge.

When I think back on what I learned on active duty in the Marines, here is what comes to mind: Honor, courage, commitment and what they mean to me. Respect, self confidence, discipline and focus are chief among the values I treasure most highly.
