Libertas Home is a non-profit organization dedicated to the belief that children are our future and that they deserve their childhood. We train community members to notice signs of trafficking and give classes to parents on keeping their children safe online. We are in the process of fundraising to build the first safe home for minor survivors of trafficking in northern Virginia. This area attracts trafficking because of the intersecting highways, proximity of DC, and the high median income in the area. While the safe home is needed, we also focus heavily on community education and prevention, as we would much rather prevent a trafficking case than have to rehabilitate afterward. Comments on the Military and Business Ownership

My spouse was in the Navy as a nuclear mechanic, so I hope I qualify as a military spouse. I am the director of the organization, and my husband helps me with it. I know his experience has helped him with risk management and prevention, as well as administrative work and emergency responses. One of our board members is also active duty in the Navy. His experience qualifies him to do grant research, public speaking, and community outreach, which are necessary for our organization.
